OPEN UP | FAR AND BEYOOND | HONESTY | ULTIMATE
tittot's work is characterized often with simple clean lines delineating a flowing momentum. At the same time, the expressions of those living creatures are mimicked to the finest details, liberating smashing inertia only possible under broiling passion and craving lust for flawlessness from master craftsman. To the viewer, every piece delivers a tight knot felt from inside.
About forty-seven steps are involved in "Lost Wax Castings", each demands meticulous workmanship and after final buffing, the finished mass is shimmering with opalescence from every angle, and the detailing once impossible by other means of glass making is now glittering in soothing warmth.
When the design calls for varying thicknesses throughout a single piece in close proximity to each other, there is no room for error and the only alternative is the rubbish bin. Meanwhile, each work requires its own mold. When color glasses melt and drift through the final mold at 800+ C, individual color migrates and settles in random patterns and intensities ending up with its own color signature, and become one of its kinds. As there are no two pieces alike, and under such horrendous conditions, owning one perfected specimen is absolutely well worth.
Michael Rogers, former president of Glass Art Society (G.A.S.) of U.S.A. once expressed ...of the most difficult glass work done with Lost Wax Casting, ten come from tittot…the Millennium Dragon, Mercy Unlimited, Heavenly Beings, Heaven and Earth, Fast Changing Situation...
There has been only one obsession...to turn abstraction into realism without losing its ideal. Doing so, tittot spares nothing for ideas, technical breakthroughs, let alone for the freedom to create.
