Venetian Glass, elegant and exquisite; Czech Glass, articulately carved, chiseled with surgical precision; American Glass, diversif, lively with creative use of multi-media...
So much said of the West, can Chinese Glass become a legend of its own?
Since the snuff bottles made their last appearance in the Qing Dynasty, Chinese glass silently wilted away until 1988, when Heinrich Wang, the Creative Director of tittot, resurrected it with a booster shot of "Lost Wax Casting". Suddenly, there was a resurgence of glass art popping up throughout the Greater China regions. At last, Chinese glass rooted deep and began to flourish.
Stephen Procter from the Glass Department of the University of Canberra once commented, "...tittot's works blend in the essence of tradition and modernity... and through observing and immersing in different cultures... he discovers his own cultural identity and style..."
tittot started out with Chinese culture in mind, but finalized its work with a wealth of Western aesthetics. The result is a concise integration glowing with density, depth and volume. The Chinese glass art now rocks with a new beat.
